Boy oh boy…
The tail race below the dam has been putting out a ton of sandies (white bass) recently. There have been so many limits taken I’d think there were no fish left, WRONG! Every time I turn around there’s another post about limits caught in short order. I guess the fish are making up for lost time from the drought Texas has been in.
Here in this part of Texas the rain levels have almost gotten back to normal. We’ve had over a foot of rain since the first of the year which is almost good. There hasn’t been a lot of rain lately but our fingers are crossed.
Anyway, white bass have been caught on just about everything. Minnows, shad, worms, spoons, cranks, jigs… you name it, the whites are hitting it. It appears the shad population is up from the big drain the TRA was doing on the lake. The gates are pretty well closed down with minimal flow, until the next big down pour anyway…
